Moonrakers Roller Skating Club |
history |
The Moonrakers club was formed around 1996 from two groups of skaters and trainers
from two existing clubs. Lorna and Jeremy Reynolds were formally trainers
with West Berks RSC and the other founding members, Sue Maynard and Bill Veloz,
were skaters at Downlands RSC. When the club was formed the mission was to train members to compete in club competitions. For the past 10 -11 years the club has also run its own competition; originally as a way financing its activities having only 6 members and skating only once a week. Times have certainly changed, the club now has around 20 competition skaters, with members skating twice a week, as well as an additional once a month at Berks Leisure Centre. |
